The area surrounding Girasole offers suggestive panoramas. The beach is a kilometre from the village and stands behind a luxuriant pine forest; it has fine white sand with a golden sandy bottom of larger grains mixed with gravel. The water is an iridescent pale blue. The area around the lagoon provides an interesting example of a natural environment for nature lovers with different species of birds and marsh plants. You can also follow a bird-watching trail on it shores. In the inhabited centre the parish church is dedicated to Nostra Signora of Monserrato and was built between the XVI and the XVII century in a plain and simple design. The Church of Sant'Antonio was deconsecrated before the nineteenth century . The ruins of the Church of Sant'Alessandro also lie in the countryside. One of the feasts is dedicated to the patron saint of the village and is very popular with the local people. As well as the religious ceremonies of a solemn mass and a procession with a parade of traditional costumes and riders on horseback, there are also folkloristic displays and dancing in the square to accompany the celebrations which are held on the first Sunday in September.
