The Nuraghe Su Mulinu of Villanovafranca tells us a thousand-year history that crosses the different phases of the Nuragic period, starting from the Middle Bronze Age (XVIII / XVII-XV century BC) up to the Recent Bronze Age (XIV-XIII century. BC) and Finale (XII-X century BC) and the early Iron Age (X-VIII century BC). This long historical journey continues with the late Punic phase of the IV-III century. B.C. and again with the Roman republican and imperial age (III century BC-V century AD) and with the Vandalic, Byzantine (VI-IX century AD) and medieval (X-XI century) phases. d. C.). It is therefore a multi-layered site.
